Buying a car
How much does it cost to use BoricuaAuto as a buyer?
Nothing. Searching, comparing and contacting a seller is free, and you don't need an account to look around. You only need one to list a car.
How to search
- Filter. In Listings you pick a category, make and model. The numbers next to each make are the cars that actually exist, not a theoretical catalog.
- Fine-tune. Add town, year, mileage and price. Or type what you want the way you'd say it: "automatic 4x4 SUV under 30000".
- Compare. In Advanced search you see how inventory is spread by year, mileage and price before you decide.
- Get in touch. Message on WhatsApp with a ready-made text. The seller gets who you are and which car you want.
Does BoricuaAuto verify the cars?
No. We're the place where they're listed: we don't own the vehicles and we don't verify ownership, condition or mileage. Before paying, check the car in person and with a mechanic you trust. You have the full checklist in Safety.
Can I pay or reserve on the site?
No, and that's on purpose. BoricuaAuto doesn't process payments or charge sales commissions. The whole deal is directly between you and the seller.
Sell my car
How to list, step by step
- Sign in or create your account. Top right, under "Sign in / Sign up". That's what lets you edit and delete your listing later.
- Fill in the details. Year, make, model, mileage, price and town. If you enter the VIN, we pull the factory data for you: trim, engine, doors, drivetrain.
- Add photos. Up to 12. Front, sides, rear, interior, dashboard with the mileage visible, and any damage. Photos are what move a sale the most.
- Add your WhatsApp. It's required: that's how buyers will message you. They arrive with the message already written and the car identified.
- Publish. Your listing goes through a quick automatic review and then it's live.
How much does it cost to list?
Listing your car as a private seller is free and we don't charge a commission when you sell it. Dealerships that want to list their whole inventory have monthly plans; the details are in For dealerships.
I already sold the car. What now?
Go to My listings and mark it as sold. It takes a second and stops people messaging you about a car you no longer have.
I want to list many cars at once
From Import inventory you can upload a list of vehicles from a file, instead of filling in the form one by one.
My account
Do I need an account to search?
No. You can browse listings, compare and view details without signing up. You only need an account to list a car and manage your listings.
How do I sign in?
With the "Sign in / Sign up" button in the top bar, on any page. You use your email and a password, and if you don't have an account the same link takes you to create one.
How do I edit or delete a listing?
In My listings you have all of yours. If you change the price or mileage, the listing goes back into the review queue before it goes live again. If you delete it, your photos are removed from storage.
Dealerships
What does a plan include?
Your own storefront with all your cars, your business name and phone on every listing, and a spot on the dealerships page. Plans start at $49 a month depending on how many vehicles you list.
Do you charge a sales commission?
No. It's a flat monthly fee, nothing more. What you sell is yours: we don't touch the price and we don't charge per unit sold.
How do I start?
Message us from the dealerships page and we set up the storefront with the inventory you already have.
Safety: how to avoid scams
- See the car in person, in daylight and in a public place. Never send money in advance to someone you don't know.
- Verify the title and make sure the seller's name matches the registered owner.
- Compare the VIN on the car, on the title and in the listing: all three have to match.
- Be suspicious of prices far below market. It's the number one sign of a scam.
- Be suspicious of haste and of any payment by wire transfer, gift card or cryptocurrency.
- Have the car checked by a mechanic you trust antes de pagar.
- If the car came from off the island, ask about its history: import, flood or hurricane damage, and whether the title is clean.
